One of the most important functions the WE Global Network provides to its local organizations is the opportunity to learn from each other and be inspired by others’ successes. Over the past few years, local organizations have already begun to visit each other’s cities, and the Network will expand these opportunities through providing guidance and financial assistance.
These visits typically include a schedule of appointments with local political, economic, and philanthropic community stakeholders in which best practices are shared about immigrant-focused economic development. A primary goal of City-to-City Visits is that leaders in each city, including key organizational staff and board members, as well as other community stakeholder institutions (elected government, chambers of commerce, local universities, immigration services, media, etc.) be inspired to expand immigrant economic development efforts.
