SCHOLARSHIPS
In order to uphold our community values of diversity, equity, and leadership, the Welcoming Economies Global Network is offering several scholarships to the 2017 Welcoming Economies Convening in Syracuse, NY, Oct. 23-24, 2017.
Ideal candidates will be youth who possess leadership qualities; persons of color who would like to increase understanding and build bridges with new immigrant communities; and immigrant-serving organizations that would benefit from increased skills and capacity in communications, strategic planning, and alliance building.
Recipients will be awarded one of the following:
- Complimentary registration worth $170 or
- Complimentary registration worth $170 and a $500 travel stipend
HOW IT WORKS
Scholarships are awarded based on need and individual and/or organizational commitment to immigrant integration and the Welcoming Framework.
Scholarship recipients are required to do the following upon acceptance of a full or partial conference registration and travel scholarship:
- Write a brief blog post thanking the Welcoming Economies Global Network for the scholarship to attend the conference and the impact of attending the conference on your work.
- Assist Welcoming Economies Global Network with promoting the conference through social media and other outlets.
- Share a link of your blog post about the Welcoming Economies Convening with Welcoming Economies Global Network.
TIMELINE
- Application Period: May 1, 2017 – September 1, 2017
- Award Notifications: September 8, 2017
- Award Acceptance: Within one week of award notification
